Have Deer? No Problem!

We’ve all experienced it — You spend hours meticulously planting your favorite Fall-Planted Bulbs in the ground, already anticipating the glorious rainbow of blooms to come in the spring. But, almost as soon as you plant them, you see bulbs scattered across your lawn and huge holes dug into your beds. The deer and rabbits have gotten to them and all of your hard work has been ruined! Well, gardeners, we’re here to help.

Planning for Fall – What’s New for 2013

Many of us are lucky enough to be experiencing the budding and blooming of Fall-Planted Bulbs all across the country. I took a trip to Boston, Massachusetts a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised that spring is in full swing there! Gorgeous Cherry Blossom Trees cascading over the streets, cheerful Daffodils blooming in every garden bed and green growth everywhere! It really gets me thinking and starting to plan my garden for next spring.

Update: Planting Fall Bulbs in our City Garden

This past fall, my friend Jintina and I layered hundreds of fall bulbs in our city garden bed. We patiently waited throughout the winter months and once spring came, along with it came a rainbow of beautiful blooms! I captured pictures of as many different blooms as I could (there were new varieties blooming each day) and am happy to report that our layered planting was a gorgeous success!
